Festival of Wreaths benefits Crowder Foundation

Crowder College's annual Festival of Wreaths will be held on Nov. 30, at 6 p.m., in the Longwell Museum -- Elsie Plaster Center, Crowder College main campus, Neosho.

All proceeds from this auction will go to the Crowder College Foun-dation to provide scholarships for students at all four campuses, including the Nevada campus.

This year's auction includes both large and small wreaths, centerpieces, and fully decorated Christmas trees. The decorating of each of these items has been donated by businesses and individuals from throughout the areas served by Crowder College. Attendees of the gala evening can enjoy participating in the silent auction Items as well as the items being auctioned by Bob Lasswell of www.lasswellauctions.com.

The Nevada campus of Crowder College gathered six wreaths and one centerpiece for this year's auction.

Wreath decorating was donated by Vernon County Clerk Tammy Beach; Julie Righter of Nevada Daily Mail/Nevada Publishing Company; Nevada R-5 Schools' counselor Tom Geeding and the High School Art Department; George Simmons of Crane Plumbing Company and his wife, Rene Simmons of First National Bank; Troy Alexander of May's Floral and Gifts; and the Nevada campus of Crowder College.

The centerpiece was donated by Karen Hertzberg of Hertzberg's Furniture and Perfect Touch Gifts. Proceeds from the sale of these seven items have been earmarked for scholarships for Nevada campus students.

Bidding online will close as of Nov. 29.
