Bronaugh R-7 School District recently released the Annual School Report Card issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, DESE. The report does not give a letter grade for the school. It is a compilation of statistics comparing Bronaugh to other districts in Missouri.
Superintendent Patricia Phillips included a message to patrons with the report.
"The mission of the Bronaugh Public Schools is to provide opportunities for our students by ensuring a quality education," Phillips said. "The teachers, staff and administration are dedicated to ensuring that all students are well prepared to be successful citizens of our country. As educators we continually strive to make Bronaugh Schools the best educational system possible."
Bronaugh has an enrollment of 240 students in kindergarten through grade 12 plus 14 in pre-school. Two administrators and 20 teachers educate Bronaugh's students. All teachers have regular certification from the state with an average of 13 years of experience. 97.5 percent of the classes are taught by highly qualified teachers.
Administrators at Bronaugh average $54,438 versus a state average of $75,236 while the teachers' base salary is $27,342 versus a state average of $40,397.
The district received a waiver for the Missouri School Improvement Plan and met the criteria in both communication arts and mathematics for the No Child Left Behind Act.
Bronaugh students taking the ACT test scoring at or above the national average; 2002, 33.3 percent; 2003, 18.2 percent; 2004, 21.1 percent; 2005, 33.3 percent and 2006, 29.4 percent.
More than 50 percent of Bronaugh students are eligible for free and reduced lunches. Special education students make up 14.4 percent of the student body, 35.9 percent of the students are in vocational programs and 73.3 percent of graduates entered college.
