Nevada swimmers in Carthage

The Nevada Lady Tiger swimmers competed in the Carthage Iron Woman Pentathlon Tuesday. The Lady Tigers swam against athletes from Carthage, Joplin and Lamar.
There were 45 swimmers in the field and each was required to swim all five events to be ranked in the final results.
Senior Claire Hissink placed ninth in the 200-yard IM, 14th in the 100 butterfly, 11th in the 100 backstroke and seventh in the 100 breaststroke.
Junior Lindsey Webb was eighth in the 200 IM, 26th in the butterfly, eighth in the freestyle, 19th in the backstroke and fifth in the breaststroke.
Junior Abby Ruddick was 20th in the IM, 18th in the butterfly, 13th in the freestyle, 15th in the backstroke and 22nd in the breaststroke.
Sophomore Jessica Davis was 28th in the IM, 29th in the butterfly, 26th in the freestyle, 26th in the backstroke and 25th in the breaststroke.
Freshman Melanie Messick was 25th in the IM, 28th in the butterfly, 32nd in the freestyle, 32nd in the backstroke and 12th in the breaststroke.
The swimmers have two weeks off until their next competition Jan. 6, in Ozark.
