James Dale Butterfield
James Dale Butterfield, age 58, of El Dorado Springs, Mo., passed away the afternoon of Dec. 27, 2006, in his home, of heart failure. James was born Oct. 11, 1948, to Ernest Butterfield and Bessie Spencer Butterfield, in Nevada, Mo.
James lived his lifetime in El Dorado Springs. He graduated in 1966 from El Dorado Springs High School. After high school he entered the Vietnam War for two years, working in the field of artillery. When he returned home on Feb. 5, 1971, he worked for the Bureau of Land Management. He married Georgeann Johnston on May 26, 1972, and to this union four children were born. James spent 27 years of his life working at Fram in Nevada. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and friends. He also enjoyed gardening. James always had a story ready for anyone that stopped by. James was baptized on Jan. 17, 1988, at the First Christian Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Bessie Butterfield; brother, Ron Butterfield and wife Nancy, Montgomery City, Mo.; sister-in-law, Sharon Butterfield, Kirksville, Mo.; three sons, Jason Butterfield and wife Jennifer, Republic, Mo., Brandon Butterfield and wife Misty, El Dorado Springs and Erick Butterfield, El Dorado Springs; daughter, Rachel Butterfield, El Dorado Springs; grandchildren, Torrie of Republic and Chance of El Dorado Springs; four aunts and two uncles and many cousins.
Preceding James in death were his father, Ernest Butterfield and his brother, Fred Butterfield.
Services were held at the Hackleman Chapel, Lamar, on Wednesday, Jan. 2, with the Rev. James Coleman officiating.
