Lea "Roy" Raabe
Lea "Roy" Raabe, 67, Montrose, Colo., passed away on Jan. 19, 2007. He was born Sept. 15, 1939, in Hobbs, N.M., and graduated high school in Metz, Mo. He attended and graduated from Central Missouri State University with a degree in education.
Roy married Pamela Dunham in 1966 and they had two children, Sonya Elaine and Matthew Eric John. Pam passed away in 1992. Roy married Otisene Ansa in 2000 and resided in Montrose, Colo., where both were retired. Roy taught Industrial arts, math and driver's education in Otterville, Mo., and Norwood, Colo., for more than 30 years. He was the principal in Norwood as well as active in CHSAA. He was also a 20-year volunteer member of the EMT and firefighting service in Norwood and served as chief for a period of time.
Roy is survived by his wife Otisene; his daughter and son-in-law Sonya and John Rheinheimer of Thornton, Colo.; and son and daughter-in-law Matt and Nicole Raabe of Colorado Springs, Colo. He was also survived by Otisene's children Sharon and Keaton Allen of Phoenix, Ariz., Joe Ansa of Reno, Nev., Dan and Anne Ansa of Philadelphia, Pa., and Lynnsey and Joel Stevenson of Aurora, Colo. Roy is also survived by his grandchildren James and Justin Rheinheimer, Amber and Doug Torda, Andrew and Larissa Allen, Sam, Jack, Leo and Danny Ansa, and Karson, Cory and Cole Stevenson. Roy is survived by his siblings Edward and Laura Call of Wichita, Kan., Elton Raabe of Richards, Mo., Jo and David Schafer of Richards, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 27, in Montrose, Colo., at the Montrose Christian Church with internment that afternoon at 2:30 p.m., in Norwood, Colo. A viewing will be held at Crippin Funeral Home in Montrose on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m., Jan. 26.
