This year's school calendar has been revamped to make up for days missed due to inclement weather.
During a meeting Wednesday night, the Nevada R-5 Board of Education approved several changes to the school-year calendar because of the missed days, but recognized that even more changes might be needed, since the possibility of more snow days exists.
Dr. Warren Lovinger said, "We still have a month where we might have further missed days. I'd like to revisit this issue at the March or April meeting. Perhaps we could see what the patrons want."
The board voted to approve the amended calendar with the provision that other changes might be needed at a later date. The first change is coming up next week. School will be in session on Monday, Feb. 19, President's Day. School will also be in session on April 6 and May 24, 25 and 29, with the last day of school on May 29.
The board also looked over the proposed 2007-'08 school calendar. Board members voted to accept the calendar as presented with the start of the school year scheduled for Aug. 16.
