Walker guilty; gets three years

The case of the State of Missouri against Charles H. Walker, charged with stealing the G.G. Ewing bay mare, resulted in the conviction of the defendant, the jury returning a verdict of guilty and assessed Walker's punishment at three years in the penitentiary. The state made a strong case against Walker and Walker's attempt to prove an alibi was of no avail.

Walker is the fellow who was run to ground and captured by Sheriff Moore for stealing the Gordon Ewing driving mare May 21, 1906. Sheriff Moore found the Ewing mare, also the Screckengost bay horse stolen at the same time at Omaha, Neb.
