Florence Neoma Atchison

Florence Neoma Atchison, 85, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Friday, March 9, 2007, at Moore-Few Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born on Oct. 12, 1921, in Sterling, Colo., to Frank Ansel Snyder and Letha Lea Emery Snyder. She married Lewis Atchison on April 12, 1943, in Tampa, Fla. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1988.

Florence was born in Sterling, Colo., and moved to Missouri as a child. She spent most of her lifetime in Kansas City and the Vernon County area. She worked in the mail order and billing departments for Sears.

Survivors include one brother, Gene Snyder and his wife, Billie, Bronaugh, Mo.; one sister, Dortha Helen Robison, and her husband, Dick, of California; one sister-in-law, JoAnn Snyder, Nevada, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Calvin and Charles Snyder; and two sisters, Mildred Snyder and Margaret Atchison.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, March 12, at Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, Mo., with John Nichols officiating. Friends may call now and until 1:30 p.m., Monday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and the family receives friends 6-7 p.m., Sunday evening, March 11, at the funeral home.
