Council meets tonight

The Nevada City Council has a short agenda on tap for Tuesday night's council meeting. Among the items they will be considering will be the second reading of a special ordinance granting Aquila a 10-year franchise to provide street light service to the city.
They will also be having the second reading of an ordinance to permit the Nevada Library board to have two voting members that are not Nevada residents; second reading of an ordinance approving a lease agreement with E-Z-Go to provide golf cars for the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course and the second reading of an ordinance to let the city receive an additional $788 in grant funding for the city's taxi coupon program from the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission.
The council will also have several new items under consideration including a liquor license for Buzz's BBQ to sell 5 percent beer; releasing the Neighborhood Improvement District assessments for lot 10 of Ashland Estates since the lot has been sold by Stutesman Realty, the developer; an agreement with Industrial Physical Therapy for pre-employment and drug testing for city employees and the proposal from DSWA, CPA to perform the city's annual audit for 2006.
They will also be considering bids for youth sport shirts and hats for 2007 recreation programs; golf course chemicals and ice for the parks and recreation and public works departments.
