Nevada girls third, boys seventh in Paola, Kan.

PAOLA, Kan. -- The Tiger track team was back in action Monday after a weekend of rained out activities.
Nevada competed in a meet with 10 other schools in Paola, Kan., with the girls placing third and the boys taking seventh.
Nevada took the top two spots in the boys' pole vault, and also had a winner in the 800 meters and the girls' 400 meter relay.
Tyler Werner won the pole vault by clearing 12-feet, 6-inches, and was followed in the standings by Mitch Pent, who vaulted 12-0.
Trevor Hinkle won the 800 with a time of 2 minutes, 6 seconds, giving the boys two champions. Hinkle also placed third in the 1,600 meters.
The team of Katelyn Brier, Afton Baldwin, Taylor Means and Brittany Pettibon won the girls' 400 meter relay with a time of 51.50 seconds.
Pettibon placed second in the girls' 100 open, with a time of 12.80. Baldwin was fifth and Means sixth in the event.
Amanda Wilson was second in the girls' discus with a throw of 104 feet, 4 inches.
Dan Lovinger was second in the boys' 300 hurdles with a time of 42.10. He also placed fifth in the 110 hurdles and sixth in the high jump.
Wilson also placed third in the shot put, while teammate Heidi Wilson was fourth.
Jacob Cherry was third in the boys' long jump and fifth in the triple jump.
Jordan Bell placed third in the girls' long jump while teammate Erica Becker was seventh.
Becker also placed fourth in the triple jump, and Bell took seventh.
Bethany Moore placed third in the 400.
LeAnn Stone placed fourth in the girls' 300 hurdles and fifth in the 100 hurdles.
Megan Smith also placed in both, taking sixth in each event.
Erica Becker placed seventh in the 100 hurdles.
Vanessa Hancock placed fourth in the girls' 800.
Brier placed fifth in the 200, and Emma Dreyer was sixth in the event.
Molly Ferree took fifth in the girls' high jump.
The girls' 3,200 relay team placed fourth. Kadee Hughes, Moore, Hancock and Bell were on the team.
The 1,600 relay team of Moore, Brier, Bell and Caedran Audley placed fifth.
The boys' 400 relay team of Cherry, Pat Barnett, Aaron Dade and Trevor Foreman placed fourth.
The Tiger varsity track team will be back in action Friday in Fort Scott, while the NHS junior varsity hosts a meet in Nevada this afternoon.
