NEVADA -- The Nevada Tigers had their best nine-hole round in years as they singed the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course for a 148 in a dual with Lamar Tuesday.
Nevada beat the visitors by 86 shots, as three players shot under 40, with Brandon Davis breaking par with a 1-under 35.
Tyler Gast was at par with a 36, and Braucher was one over at 37.
Sam Moore also had a good day, posting a 40, his lowest of the season.
David Cavener, the team's No. 3 player, shot about his average at 42, but his teammates played so well that he was the fifth score.
Cavener would have easily had the best round on Lamar's team, as their lowest score was a 54 posted by Nate Clements. Lamar only had three players break 60.
Meanwhile, Nevada's junior varsity also played well -- well enough that they would have beaten Lamar's varsity -- carding a team score of 194.
Kenny Hill shot 42 to lead the JV, while Raymond Griffin finished with a 45. Austin DeBrine shot 53 and Trevor Miller 54 to round out the JV scores.
The team score was the lowest since Nevada also shot 148 against McDonald County in 1997. It's not known the last time the team shot lower than that mark.
Nevada golfers will be on the course again Thursday when they visit El Dorado Springs.
Neosho and McDonald County visit for a triangular Tuesday, the next home match for the Tigers.
Nevada will be hosting the conference meet May 1, then have districts May 3, in Carthage.
