The Nevada Griffons return home for a Jayhawk League doubleheader against the Hays (Kan.) Larks tonight, after a successful road trip.
The Griffons won six of nine on the road over the last week, including a 5-3 league record to keep themselves right in the thick of the league race.
Nevada matched their comeback effort of Friday night with a 9-6 victory over Liberal (Kan.) Saturday, in a game that lasted 12 innings.
Like the second game of Friday's doubleheader with the BeeJays, the Griffons trailed 6-3 going into the final inning.
Nevada came alive in the top of the ninth to tie the game at six, before winning with three more runs in the 12th to forge a split in the four-game series with Liberal.
The Griffons closed the road trip with a doubleheader split at Dodge City (Kan.) Sunday.
Nevada led the first game 4-1 going into the bottom of the sixth inning of the seven-inning contest, but Dodge City scored five runs on a pair of homers for a 6-4 win.
Nevada bounced back in the second game to win 9-1, their final regular season game of the seasons against the A's.
Nevada went 6-2 against the A's in the season series, and is now 12-9 in the league, 18-10 overall.
Nevada is in third place in the league, 1.5 games behind Derby (11-5) and a half game behind Hays (10-6).
The Griffons and Larks play a doubleheader today at Lyons Stadium beginning at 6 p.m., and another tomorrow at the same time.
