Final Harry Potter book released
Harry Potter may have cast a spell on the weather Friday to keep the forecast rain away allowing Michelle Cowles, left, Katy Super and Marissa Muro, right, to work on their second place sidewalk art project during activities scheduled by Cavener's Library & Office Supplies to keep Harry Potter fans entertained until "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" was released at 12:01 Saturday morning. The trio of Cowles, Super and Muro also won second place in the costume contest as Fluffy, the three-headed dog. Other activities included a Harry Potter Jeopardy contest, a showing of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and grilled hot dogs by the Dianas. The Vernon County Arts Council, the Community Council on the Performing Arts, the Osage Prairie YMCA, University of Missouri Extension and Outreach and Missouri Eagle also participated in sponsoring the activities.
