Jonne Dee Carpenter

Jonne Dee Carpenter, age 82, resident of Kansas City, Mo., died of complications resulting from Alzheimer's on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at the Seasons Care Center in Kansas City, Mo.. Jonne was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Rich Hill, MO, the daughter of Arch T. Elmore and Helen Von Smith. She married Francis M. Carpenter on April 17, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1990. She was active in the Nevada Regional Medical Center and will be remembered as a loving mother and a great cook.

Jonne is survived by two daughters, Lisa Carl and Denise Morrison, both of Leawood, Kan.; two step-daughters, Karen Aman of Harrisonville, Mo., and Sally Stansberry of Eatonville, Wash.; four grandchildren, Michael and Marc Morrison, and Natalie and Madeline Carl; eight step-grandchilren; and several step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Francis and a sister, Jeanne Pischel.

Graveside funeral services for Jonne Carpenter will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2007, at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kan. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10 a.m. until leaving for the cemetery on Monday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
