Callie Jay Dobbs
Callie Jay Dobbs, age 32, a resident of Richards, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident near Richards. He was born Feb. 27, 1975, in Muskogee, Okla., the son of J. B. Dobbs and Wanita Tate. He worked in construction and in breaking horses. As well as his love for horses, he also enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his father, J. B. Dobbs, of Oklahoma; his mother, Wanita Tate of Fort Scott; three sons, Tyler Lee, Takota Dobbs and Tyler (T. J.) Dobbs; and two daughters, Shae Dobbs and Leslie Dobbs. Also surviving is his maternal grandmother, Betty Elizabeth Tate, Climax Springs, Mo.; one brother, John Polland, Takoma, Wash.; and four sisters, Gayla Boan, Galena, Mo., Rene Womelsdorf, Welda, Kan., Lisa Dunlap, Faxon, Okla., and Shelly Yocham, Fort Scott. There are many nieces and nephews surviving. He was preceded in death by one son, Cecil Dobbs, and Cecil's mother, Krystal Pearson, who both died in the same auto accident as Callie; his maternal grandfather, Omar Tate; and his paternal grandfather, Cecil J. Dobbs and paternal grandmother, Edith Yocham.
Steve Bubna will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at the Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S.
