Two trucks collide on U.S. 71

This 2006 Volvo tractor trailer was a total wreck after the driver, 42-year-old Christopher Johnson; Milan; N.M.; struck a trailer being pulled by a 1973 Ford truck driven by 57-year-old Steven Dean, Richards, on U.S. 71 at 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. After striking the trailer the Volvo struck the guard rail of the bridge over the Marmaton River, about six miles north of Nevada, ripping some of the metal railing off. Johnson was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Dean was not injured.
