JOPLIN -- The Nevada High School girls' tennis team came up with some impressive wins -- most notably No. 1 singles players Molly Ferree and No. 2 player Whitley delRosario -- on Thursday in a dual at Thomas Jefferson.

Feree defeated Thomas Jefferson's Martha Falls, 8-4, while delRosario won by the same score over Kristina Kory.

Despite Nevada's Megan Stacy's 8-3 loss to Laura Kemp in No. 3 singles, the Lady Tigers' Danielle Hadler defeated Sara Norton in No. 4 singles, 8-3; Elise McNeil defeated Tati Scholfield-Johnson, 8-2, in No. 5 singles, and Kayla Stiles toppled Samantha Kemp, 8-3, in No. 6 singles.

In varsity doubles play, Ferree and delRosario defeated Falls and Norton, 8-5.

In other doubles play, Nevada's McNeil and Stiles lost to Scholfield/Johnson, 8-6.

In junior-varsity singles Daven Smith of the Lady Tigers won 8-1 over Rachel McNally, and

Cherokee Minershaggen defeated McNally, 8-4.
