BUFFALO -- Heather Klingaman found herself at the top of the final leaderboard after the conclusion of the Buffalo triangular on Thursday.

Klingaman, a senior, overcame a rough start, righted her ship and finished with a 45, beating Sarah Coppock of Willard by one stroke at Dream Valley Golf Course.

"She started out double-bogey, double-bogey, double-bogey," NHS head coach Brian Leonard said, "and she wasn't on her game at first. But she made up for it. She had some pars.

" ... very impressed with Heather's 45."

Nevada had the top team score of the three teams at 204. Willard finished at 218, and Buffalo finished at 283.

Chelsea Turner of the Lady Tigers finished in third place on the leaderboard at 50. Nicole Campbell (54), Melea Galimberto (55) and Emily DeBrine (56) rounded out the varsity scoring.

In junior varsity play, Chalene Fecht shot a 66, Jessica Mosbrucker carded a 67 and Brooke Swait finished at 70.

Nevada competes at Silo Ridge Golf Course on Tuesday in the Bolivar Invitational.
