Cooking demonstration sells out

Culinary specialist Michele Curran displays shrimp remoulade, one of several dishes prepared on stage, then given away in random drawings along with the sponsor's serving dishes last night during the Taste of Home Cooking School held at Nevada High School. More than 40 door prizes were given away, including grocery-filled bags from local grocers and gift baskets from area retailers and from sponsors of the event. A sell-out crowd attended the demonstration, which is conducted every two years in Nevada and coordinated by the Nevada/Vernon County Area Chamber of Commerce and the Nevada Daily Mail/Sunday Herald-Tribune. --Justin Messner/ Daily mail
