A 17-year-old Nevada man was injured in a crash that occurred at about 12:35 a.m., Thursday, on Highland Street one mile west of Nevada, in an effort to avoid a deer in the roadway.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kyle A Bousfield headed west on Highland, driving a 1989 Chevrolet Suburban when he swerved to avoid hitting the deer but struck a utility pole with the vehicle instead.
Bousfield was transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
