Francis Webster Jr. returned to Nevada, Mo, from Sylva, N.C.m for a nostalgic visit to the West Side Barbershop, formerly operated by his father, Francis Webster Sr., as Blondy's Barbershop. With records as far back as 1884 the building at 121 1/2 N. Main has served the Nevada community for well more than 100 years. Currently West Side Barbershop, this address has offered groceries, tobacco, cafes, and barbers in the past including Blondy's owned by Webster Senior. Forty-seven years since the first time in a barber's chair, Webster Jr. sat similarly in the same place to receive a hair cut from Andrew Anderson, West Side's current barber. Following the cut, Anderson and Webster exchanged some information including a receipt from 1894 for groceries purchased from J. Hartsook & Co. the earliest known business to occupy this address.
