Comets pull upset over Ozark Christian

The Cottey Comets made their annual visit to Ozark Christian College, Joplin, and came away with a 66-63 win over the Ozark Ambassadors for a season record of 5-1, with their only loss to Hesston College, Hesston, Kan.

Brittany Smith led the Comets with 18 points and six assists, followed by Jessica Roberts with 15 points and three assists and Liz Wagoner with 11 points and one assist.

Melissa Hedges picked up nine points and one assist, Aleasha Lancaster, six points, Shanda Moon, three points and one assist, Molly Frick, two points and one assist and Meleah Painter, two points and two assists.

The Comets next game will be Dec. 4 with 2.

Mid-America Nazarene Univ. in Olathe, Kan., followed on Dec. 7 with a trip to Tulsa, Okla. to play Rheme Bible College for the second time this year.

The Comets next home game will be Dec. 11 when they play Penn Valley Community College for their final game before Christmas break.
