Leonard E. Garrett
Leonard E. Garrett, 67, Lowry City, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Dec.13, 2007, at his residence in Lowry City. He was born Nov. 25, 1940, in Sheldon, to Lawrence Lee "Pete" Garrett and Clair Louise Karhoff, He was married April 6, 1968, in Nowata, Okla., to Lucy Mae Pettibon and she survives of the home.
Mr. Garrett grew up in Sheldon and the Nevada area and attended Sheldon schools. He worked at Farm and Home, in Nevada, for a number of years. He also drove trucks most of his working life for Henry Kraft Mercantile, Johnson Grain and Milo Farms. He retired to the Truman Lake area near Lowry City, in 2003.
In addition to his wife Lucy, survivors include four daughters, Rebecca Blunt and her husband Wayne, Nevada, Kimberly Neal and her husband John, El Dorado Springs, Michelle Smith and her husband William, Nevada, and Tonya Martin, Nevada; two sons, Lyndan Eberhard and Gregory Garrett, both of Nevada; three children from a previous marriage, Anna Nichols, Nevada, Victor Garrett, Walker, and Sherry Garrett, Nevada; 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Conard, Nevada, Mary Buckner, Sheldon, and Martha Byran, Sheldon. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert Garrett and Mike Garrett and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 17, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Mark Mitchell and Terry Mosher officiating. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo.
Friends may call now and until the time of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon between 2 and 3 p.m.
The family suggests memorials may be made in his honor to the family in care of the funeral home.
