Betty Lou Hendrix
Betty Lou Hendrix, 67, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at her home, in Nevada. She was born June 6, 1940, in Nevada, to James William Mesplay and Dorothy Madeline Butts Mesplay.
Betty was born and raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School, in 1958. She worked for Southwestern Bell as a supervisor and retired after 20 years of service. She earned a Bachelor's Degree after her retirement. Betty was very active in the Nevada community for a number of years. She was a freelance author and an avid Chief's fan. She was also a great fan of Elvis Presley and supporter of George W. Bush. She was a member of the Milo Baptist Church, Milo, Mo., and BPW club in Nevada.
Survivors include one son, Harvey Joe Starlin Jr., Grain Valley, Mo.; three daughters, Kelli Jo Manley, Kimberly Ann Fanning and Kerri Lynn Means, all of Nevada; 12 grandchildren, Kail Starlin, Adrian, Mo., Brent Dahmer, Karissa Strack, Kasha Belcher, Delia McQuay, Taylor Means, Michael McQuay, Haylee McQuay, Thomas McQuay, Raylin Means, Erin McQuay, Kadence Fanning, all of Nevada, Michael Burks and Christina Burks, both of Grain Valley, Mo., and three great-grandchildren; her mother Dorothy Gaines Hampton, Schell City; four brothers, Bill Mesplay, the state of Arkansas, Ronnie Mesplay, the state of Florida, James McNeil Mesplay, Chicago, Ill., and Preston Gains, Schell City; three sisters, Dorothy Armstrong, Tacoma, Wash., Charmion Fanning and Linda Braun, both of Independence, Mo., and still special friend Tom Kerbs, Independence.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
