Bronaugh posts sweep of NEVC on Homecoming
BRONAUGH, Mo. -- The Bronaugh boys and girls basketball teams celebrated their 2008 Homecoming Friday night by easily winning both games over Northeast Vernon County .
The Wildcats beat the NEVC Knights 65-42 to make their season record 5-12 and the Lady Wildcats beat the Lady Knights 52-30 for a season record of 8-9.
The Bronaugh and NEVC girls and boys teams will face off Tuesday night for the third time in two weeks in the GVVC Conference Tournament at Hume High School. The girls game is scheduled for a 7:30 tip-off, with the boys scheduled to start at 9:00.
In the girls game Sky Klinksick led the scoring for the Lady Wildcats with 21 points going 6-8 free throws, followed by Vanessa Langford with 17 points including two treys, Carly Schulze and Kaitlyn Douglas scored six points each and Ashley Cox scored two points.
The Lady Knights scoring was lead by Ashley Harms with 11 points, followed by Darci Baer with nine points, Darcy Scotten with seven points and Courtney Greer with two points.
In the boys game Nick Judd led the Wildcats with 23 points including four treys, followed by Cameron Bott and Dakota Chrisenberry with 10 points each, Scott Farmer scored seven points including one trey, Dean Millman had seven points and Travis Farmer and Daniel Armstrong scored two points each.
The NEVC Knights were led by Charlie Stewart With 12 points, closely followed by Damien Hansen with 11 points including two treys, Cody Terry with nine points, Isaac Wilkins with four points, Jacob Fabian with three points, Cody Scott with two points and Chase Thompson with one point.
