At noon, Dec. 12, Aaron C. Blondell suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center. Two passengers in the vehicle, Timothy A. McCullick and David H. Petty, both age 14, also suffered moderate injuries and were transported to NRMC. The two teens were not wearing seat belts at the time of the incident, the report said.

Earlier that day, just before 8 a.m., Lorett M. Pritchett, 34, Nevada, also lost control of the vehicle she was driving -- a 2005 GMC Envoy -- on the ice-covered roadway, on County Road 1300, about five miles southwest of Nevada, left the roadway and struck a tree. Pritchett suffered moderate injuries and was transported to NRMC. Nine-year-old Izaac L. Pritchett suffered moderate injuries and 5-year-old Mary E. Pritchett suffered minor injuries; both children also were transported to NRMC. All of the occupants of Pritchett's vehicle were buckled in, the report said.
