Buddy Charles Hagemann
Buddy Charles Hagemann, 63, of Metz, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2008, at his home in Metz following a lengthy illness. He was born April 22, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio. He married Patricia J. Borgelt, on Dec. 18, 1988, in Toledo, and she survives of the home.
Buddy served in the United States Army for 20 years, including three tours of duty in Vietnam. During that time he was awarded several accommodations including: the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, Army Commendation Medals from 1966-1969, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Services Medal. While in the service, he served in the 101st Airborne, having jumped more than 450 times and became a sharpshooter with the M-1 and an expert with M-14. Buddy was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post No. 2984, of Walbridge, Ohio. He and Patricia came to Metz in 1989, where they have resided ever since. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Nevada.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Patty, include his children, Samantha Jones, of Coldsboro, N.C., Karen Ebert, of Ashland, Ohio, Frank Bateman, United States Army, stationed in Italy, Jeanette Brock, of Sherman, Texas, and James Bateman, of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Emily, Luke, and Jack Thomas, Shawn and Lance Ebert, Bradley Brock, Carlin, Matlin and Riley Bateman, Sulli and Sarina Beerman, Kiia Pettit, and Sheena Brooks; four sisters, Sandra Etts, of Genoa, Ohio, Terry Jo Pratt, of Helena, Ohio, Patty Jefferson, of Walbridge, Ohio, and Pam Brown, of Genoa, Ohio; one brother, Kenny Hagemann, of the state of Arkansas; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Borgelt, of Metz; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Dale and Betty Hagemann, and his mother Helen White.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Nevada, with pastor Johannes Brann officiating.
