Concrete issue delays terminal project

Saturday, April 5, 2008
The Nevada Airport Board held a special meeting at the airport Friday to look at some minor design changes and possible problems with the new terminal building. One potential problem is cracking and flaking of the concrete under some of the upright girders for the terminal. The concrete is currently being stress tested by an independent lab and the architect's structural engineer will be in Nevada next week to do a site survey of the terminal building. --Ralph Pokorny/Herald-Tribune
