Nevada native fairs well as North Carolina pitcher in game against Temple

Former Nevada Tiger pitcher Luke Stahl earned his second victory of the spring, April 4, for the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Stahl allowed three runs on six hits in the 9-5 victory over Temple University in Philadelphia.
Stahl walked three and struck out seven over six innings of work, allowing two earned runs. So far Stahl is 2-1 with a 5.26 ERA in 13 appearances this season. He transferred to UNC-Charlotte from Allen County Community College in Iola, Kan. and plans to graduate in August with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
Stahl spent the 2007 season as the No. 4 starter for UNC-Charlotte before being moved to the bullpen this year. He is typically brought in to face left-handed batters or in middle-relief situations. UNC Charlotte is 23-5 with an 8-1 record in the Atlantic 10 conference.
