Zelma Lankford Hernod Kimbrell

Zelma Lankford Hernod Kimbrell, 87, of Kearney, Mo., passed away Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Liberty Hospital, in Liberty, Mo. She was born June 3, 1920, in Rich Hill, to Lewis Wesley Lankford and Winifred Eve Willis Lankford. She married Roy Herndon on Aug. 10, 1914 and he preceded her in death Sept. 23, 1977. She then married Claude Kimbrell, June 15, 1979, and he preceded her in death Nov. 20, 1989.

Mrs. Kimbrell is survived by two sons, Ronald Herndon and his wife Rayann, of Lathrop, Mo., and Royce Herndon and his wife Dolores, of Sweet Springs, Mo.; six grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Lankford, of Wheatland, Mo.; two sisters, Judith King and Nina Jensen, both of Pittsburg, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Ruby Lankford, of Sedalia, Mo. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Wilson, and three brothers, Wesley, Herschel and Leonard Lankford.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, at Ferry Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service.

Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada. The family will received friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning between 10 and 11 a.m., prior to the service.
