Alexander, Kerbs take prestigious honors

During the 2008 Nevada High School Senior Recognition Program the Jerrod Alexander and Jordan Kerbs were presented the two most prestigious athletic awards the school awards. While both the Roger Kennedy Award and the Robert Williams Memorial Wrestling Award require the recipients to be outstanding, they also require the recipients to exhibit academic prowess, high moral character, excellent interpersonal relationships and in the case of the Robert Williams Award, a practicing Christian.

Nevada athletic director said that this was the first time there was a tie in the vote for the Roger Kennedy Award.
Alexander lettered for four years in football, wrestling and baseball and was selected as All Conference in football four times. He was also selected for All District honors, first team Southwest Conference in 2007 and 2008, second team all area wrestler in 2007 and 2008, qualified for the state wrestling championship in 2007 and 2008 and was a member of Nevada's two-time district championship wrestling team. In 2008 Alexander was selected to the Southwest Conference baseball first team at third base.
Jordan Kerbs played basketball and baseball for the Nevada Tigers. He was selected for the Southwest Conference first team in basketball, All District second team and All Area second team and as the Offensive Player of the Year. Kerbs was selected for Honorable Mention as an outfielder as a sophomore and was selected for the Southwest Conference first team as an outfielder in 2008.
He was the recipient of the Kelly Bradham Newcomer Award as a junior.
Kerbs is a member of the National Honor Society, FBLA and NHS Student Council.
