Season points race still in question at Nevada Speedway

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Racing was fast and furious as we get down to the end of the season at the speedway. There is not one division that has a clear cut winner at this point so it's anyone's guess who the 2008 track champions will be. Next week the Late models will race in the Labor Day special with a $1,500 first prize check at stake and this always makes racing exciting. The sixth will be our Season Championship races to determine who will be the 2008 track champions in each division as there is not one division that has a clear cut winner at this point. After season championship we have an MLRA race, a Factory Stock special and a Mini-Stock special. As always we want to see each and every one of you at the biggest little racetrack in the country.

Skaggs for the lead at the start. Bolin was trying to run the high side of the track and went spinning. Skaggs led the field to the green with Jack Simmons trying to gain the lead on the high side of the track racing side by side for at least four laps until they came up to lapped traffic. Simmons collided with Foxie Sumner bringing out the yellow flag and closing the field behind Skaggs for the restart. Shannon Phillips chased down Skaggs but ran out of laps which allowed Skaggs to claim the win, third of the season and second in a row.

Modified

Heat race winners were Gary Clark, Walker and Bob Kerbs, Nevada. Brian Bolin got the lead at the start of the Feature. A yellow flew as Jack Simmons went spinning into the infield. This closed the field behind Bolin for the restart. Another yellow flew as Craig Wood, Jessy Willard, Dustin Beisley and Gary Clark collided sending all of the sideways. Bolin led the field to the green flag and was pulling away when a yellow flew for parts in the track. This erased Bolins lead and closed the field behind him for the restart. Street Stock: Heat race winners were Dustin Wyland, Mulbery, Kan., and Eddie Fox, Girard, Kan. At the start of the feature Zach Marsh and Dennis Bunger raced side by side all around the track for several laps trading the lead back and forth several times before Wyland was able to pass them both grabbing the lead. A yellow flew as Chase Domer slowed on the track and once again Wyland was in the lead for the restart. Wyland and Marsh raced away from the balance of the field as they competed for the lead. Alex Hart brought out the next yellow flag as the limped to the pits with a flat tire. Wyland again led the field to the green flag. Once again Wyland and Marsh leave the field behind. With just a few laps left another yellow flew as a part broke on Hendrens car leaving him sitting on the top of the track and Lehmann was in the lead for the restart. Lehmann maintained the lead and collected his fifth win of the season.
