Annual safe treats parade to take place Oct. 31
Local goblins, superheroes, two-legged pumpkins, animals in disguise, princesses, princes and merry and scary ghouls of all sorts, get your costumes ready and prepare to be treated!
Main Street Nevada's annual Safe Treats Parade in downtown Nevada is once again offering its Halloween tradition in which local children can trick-or-treat safely at local businesses in Nevada. Merchants hand out candy or other treats, often getting into the spirit of things themselves by dressing in their own Halloween garb.
Mike Seitz, Main Street Nevada, said the event an annual favorite that is enjoyed very much by businesses and participants alike, and never fails to draw a large crowd of participants.
This year, more than 45 businesses are participating, located on the Square, one block off the Square, and on Hunter and East Cherry.
"This event began and continues as an effort to help ensure that the children of Nevada have a safe and happy environment in which to trick or treat," Seitz said.
The parade begins Friday, Oct. 31, at 3:15 p.m.
