Community organizations offer a broad variety of Halloween events
Events for children and adults of all ages are lined up for Oct. 31, with community groups offering parties, safe treats, and safe activities for everyone.
The annual Main Street Nevada Safe Treats Parade, in which merchants on and around the Square offer treats for children, starts at 3:15. Participating merchants will display a safe treats flyer in the window.
Meanwhile, The Barone Alzheimer's Care Center, 1201 N. Ash, Nevada, will offer treates for costumed children ages 10 and younger, for its "Beggar's Night," 3-4 p.m.
The 21st Annual Treats Without Tricks, sponsored by the Nevada Elks Lodge and the Nevada Parks and Recreation Department, will take place at the City/County Community Center, 200 N. Ash, Nevada, with games, candy and prizes for children in fifth grade and younger, 5-8 p.m. Costumes are optional.
Walker Christian Church will host a "Trunk or Treat" on at 7 p.m. Refreshments, games and treats will be provided.
The Nevada Eagles Aerie No. 3770 is hosting a fall membership drive and haunted house with activities for children, 3-7 p.m., at the lodge. A kids' costume contests is set for 6:30 p.m., and the Charlie Horse Band will entertain from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Nevada High School's Anti-Van follies begin at 7 p.m., in the high school auditorium.
The American Legion Leon Ogier Post No. 2 is hosting an adult costome party with Ductape Karaoke, 9 p.m.-1 a.m., at the post.
