Leoti May Clark
Leoti May Clark, age 76, of Nevada, died on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Christian Health Care in Nevada. She was born on Aug. 15, 1932, in rural Cedar County to Claude Henry Miller and Lila Mae Coale Miller. She was married in 1952 to Orvan Highley and to this union her three children were born. On May 27, 1986, she was married to Delbert Lynn Clark and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2007.
Leoti grew up in Cedar County and graduated from the El Dorado Springs High School in 1950. She worked for the Social Security Office in Kansas City, Mo., for many years. In 1977, she moved to Nevada where she continued working for the Social Security office until her retirement in the late 1980s.
Survivors include her two children, Warren Highley and his wife Sonya of Montevallo, Mo.; her daughter, Rosemary Micklich and her husband Bob of Nevada; her grandchildren, Veronica Highley, Warren Highley Jr., Matthew Highley, and Robert Micklich III; daughter-in-law, Dawn Highley, Kansas City, Mo., and sister-in-law, Geneva Miller of Lamar. In addition to her husband Lynn Clark, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wayne Highley and two brothers, Lloyd and Robert Miller.
Funeral services was held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with the Rev. Norman Highley officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Vernon Cemetery near Walker, Mo.
