Wednesday, November 26, 2008

The Nevada Middle School eighth grade girls' basketball A and B teams competed against Carthage Middle School on Monday evening with mixed results.

The B team suffered their first loss in seven games on the year as they were able to keep the game close, but fell just short, dropping the somewhat low-scoring game by a final score of 21-18.

The A team had much better luck on the night as they were able to keep their undefeated record intact in another fairly close game. The A team found themselves in a very high-scoring affair and were able to come out on top by six, winning the game by a final score of 42-36.

Monday's games pushed the B team's record to 6-1 on the season, while the A team remains undefeated at 7-0, heading into a week-long break from competition.

Both teams are scheduled to be in action again on Monday, Dec. 1, as they join the seventh graders in another home contest against Joplin North, with tip-off time set for 5 p.m.
