Corey Leon "Tooie" Martin
Corey Leon "Tooie" Martin, 17, Nevada, passed away as the result of an automobile accident on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008. He was born Oct. 28, 1991, in Kansas City, Kan., to David Lee Martin and Tonia Rana Garrett Martin.
Corey grew up in Nevada. He was a junior in the Nevada High School Class of 2010. He was a past member of the FFA and Richard's 4-H. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Corey cared very deeply for his girlfriend Emily DeBrine, who unfortunately was also claimed in this traffic accident.
Survivors include his mother, Tonia Martin, of the home; his father, David Martin, Odessa, Mo.; one brother, Caleb Martin, of the home; grandparents, Lucy Garrett, Lowry City, Mo., Leah Carroll and her husband David, Lowry City, Mo., and Rowland and Cheryl Martin, Rae, Mo.; great-grandmother, Aletha Martin, Mound City, Mo., and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Colby Martin and his grandfather, Leonard Garrett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh, Mo. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Nevada High School gymnasium. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
