Special tour at Missouri State Museum set for Dec. 13
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. --Missouri's State Capitol welcomes thousands of visitors' every day, but what happens once the doors close at night? Explore the halls of the Missouri State Museum at night with the premier of the "Voices of Missouri's Past" tour of the Missouri State Museum on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the tour begins at 6 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
Visitors can begin a journey through time with an early French colonist settling the Missouri frontier, travel into the wilderness with the fur trapper and lift up the banners for women's suffrage. Travel forward through time, through the eras of history as costumed interpreters bring the past to life right before the eyes of the passing visitors. The Missouri State Museum is located inside the State Capitol at 201 W. Capitol Ave., Jefferson City. Reservations for the program are requested and can be made online at www.mostateparks.
