Hume boys defeat Lakeland

The Hume Hornets added another strong road victory to their record as they squared off against the Vikings of Lakeland on Friday, Feb. 6.

Cameron Hinton led the offensive effort for the Hornets with 23 points as Hume rolled their way to a 65-45 victory. Ryan Austin and Cody Franklin broke into double figures in the contest as well, finishing with 15 and 11 points, respectively.

Eric Pruitt hauled in a team-high seven rebounds on the night while Austin led the Hornets with five assists. The Hornets shot just under 50 percent from the field as a team and a respectable 74 percent from the free-throw line.

For the Vikings, Jeff Osborn led the offensive effort with 10 points. Lakeland shot just 39 percent from the field, while making seven of 14 foul shots.

With that win, the Hornets raised their record to 14-5 on the season, 4-0 in conference play.
