Lady Tiger basketball to host skills camp

Friday, May 8, 2009

After a successful 2008-09 basketball season and playing for a district championship, the Nevada Lady Tigers basketball program is anxious to start off the upcoming year with an exciting, informative week of camp to teach important basketball fundamentals and skills.

The camp will highlight individual and group drills in areas such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, teamwork, as well as other important skills. All participants will receive a camp T-shirt, as well as a chance to win daily prizes.

The coaching staff will also select a camper of the day for each of the grades in attendance.

The staff welcomes future and current players in the program to attend. The camp is open to all girls in grades 3-8 and includes a cost of $30 per player that covers the camp, as well as the camp T-shirt.

The camp will be held Monday through Thursday, June 1-4. Camp sessions for third, fourth and fifth graders will be from 12:30-2 p.m., with sixth through eighth graders to follow from 2-3:30 p.m., at Wynn Gymnasium inside Nevada High School.

Payments may be attached to the returned camp entry form or will be accepted at the start of camp. For more information, contact Lady Tigers head coach Brent Bartlett at (417) 843-3586 or (417) 667-1783.
