54 Cruisers Car Show winners

This 1969 Boss 351 Mustang owned by Doug (Jack) Burns of Stockton, Mo., was awarded the Best in Show at the 16th Annual Route 54 Cruisers Car Show held Saturday in the parking lot of the Church of the God Holiness in El Dorado Springs. --Rusty Murry/Daily Mail

The 54 Cruiser' car show in El Dorado Springs was well attended, with entrants from all over the area taking part.

Following are the results of the competition.

Class 1 -- Antique Vehicles (1948-earlier): First place, Les Burris, El Dorado Springs, 1929 Ford sedan; second place, Howard and Faye Gillis, Stockton, 1946 Chevy pickup; and third place, Charles Foreman, Walker, 1911 Ford Model T.

Class 2 -- Original (1949-'54): First place, Nadine Bough, El Dorado Springs, 1951 Chevy Fleetline.

Class 3 -- Original (1955-'60): First place, Larry Pinkman, Stockton, 1955 Mercury Montclair.

Class 4 -- Original (1961-'67): First place, Willard Small, Lockwood, 1966 Ford Galaxie; second place Mike Graves, El Dorado Springs,1967 Chevy Malibu; and third place, Robert Rosales, El Dorado Springs, 1965 Ford Thunderbird

Class 5 -- Original (1968-74): First place, Steve Jones, El Dorado Springs, 1969 Chevy Chevelle; second place, Doug Fugate, El Dorado Springs, 1969 Ford Bronco; and third place, Doris Jasnocha, El Dorado Springs, 1972 Ford Mustang.

Class 6 -- Original (1975-'84): First place, John Snider, El Dorado Springs, 1977 Chrysler New Yorker.

Class 7 -- Mustangs (1964-'70): First place, Jack Burns, Stockton, 1969 Ford Mustang; second place, Dick Weinbrenner, Lees Summit, 1966 Ford Mustang; and third place, Robert Rotert, Appleton City, 1968 Ford Mustang.

Class 8 -- Mustangs (1971-present): First place: Sam and Harold Hill, Nixa, 1973 Ford Mach I; second place, Michael Keyes, Lees Summit, 2006 Ford Mustang; and third place, Larry Henggeler, Raytown, 2006 Ford Mustang.

Class 9 -- Corvettes (1953-'67): No entries.

Class 10 -- Corvettes (1968-present): First place, Joe and Janet Swopes, Bella Vista, Ark., 1969 Chevy Corvette; second place, Ralph Zartman, El Dorado Springs, 1973 Chevy Corvette; and third place, Chuck Thomas, Nevada, 1986 Chevy Corvette.

Class 11 -- Street Rods (1948 and earlier); First place, Jim and Kandy Swopes, El Dorado Springs, 1934 Chevy Sedan; second place, Tom Gladden, El Dorado Springs, 1929 Ford pickup; and third place, Greg Dahmer, Nevada, 1934 Ford Coupe.

Class 12 -- Classic Trucks (1959 and earlier); First place, Frank Arnold, Nevada, 1951 Ford pickup; second place, Mike Graves, El Dorado Springs, 1948 Chevy pickup; and third place, Carol Parmenter, El Dorado Springs, 1951 GMC pickup.

Class 13 -- Classic Trucks (1960-'84):Larry Weinbrenner, El Dorado Springs, 1965 Ford pickup; second place, Terry Hahnfeld, Bronaugh, 1972 Chevy pickup; and third place, Bob Roos, Appleton City, 1971 Chevy pickup.

Class 14 -- Modified Trucks (1959 and earlier): First place, Henry Millman, Bronaugh, 1954 Chevy pickup; second place, Wilma Zartman, El Dorado Springs, 1957 Chevy pickup.

Class 15 -- Modified Trucks (1960-present); First place: Henry Millman, Bronaugh, 1984 Chevy pickup; second place, Ted McDaniel, Appleton City, 1966 Chevy pickup; and third place, Larry Keith, Kansas City, Mo., 1979 Chevy El Camino,

Class 16 -- Special Interest: First place, Rick and Lee Crites, Bolivar, 1954 Studebaker Command-er; second place, Henry Millman, Bronaugh, 1989 Chevy pickup, and third place, Harry Campbel1, Grain Valley, 1964 Shelby Cobra.

Class 17 -- Low Riders: Ben Bland, El Dorado Springs, 1997 Chevy Suburban
