Hume Hornets add three more wins

The Hume Hornets baseball team won three games this past week.

On Tuesday, May 12, the Hornets defeated Archie 2-0 in eight innings. Senior Ryan Austin pitched the entire game, recording a no-hitter with 20 strikeouts. Austin and Eric Pruitt each had an RBI in the contest, while Austin and Kris Sears each scored a run.

On Thursday, The Hornets defeated Miami 15-3. Cameron Hinton pitched two innings, allowing one run and recording four strikeouts. Zach Austin pitched the final three innings, allowing two runs and recording four strikeouts.

Friday, Hume defeated Lutheran High School of Kansas City 6-5. Hinton pitched two innings for the Hornets and allowed one run while recording one strikeout.

Zach Austin pitched the next four innings and allowed four runs before Ryan Austin closed out the game, recording one strikeout.

Hinton led the offensive effort for the Hornets with two RBIs. Andy Yarick, Cody Franklin, Zach Austin and Sears added one RBI each.
