Saturday Bushwhacker Parade entries sought

There's still time to enter the Bushwhacker Parade, set for 6 p.m., Saturday, June 13.

This year's theme is "Nevada ... Fun for All Seasons," and the entry deadline is Thursday, June 4. Entries will be judged with winners in each of five categories: youth, adult, business, equestrian and antique car, truck or tractor. Entries submitted after June 4 will not be judged and will be lined up at the end of the parade.

Horse entries must submit a negative Coggins test, to be submitted with the entry form.

No candy or other items may be thrown from any entry due to safety concerns, but items may be handed out by persons walking beside parade entries.

Entry forms may be printed from www.bwdays.

com. and returned to Bushwhacker Parade, Nevada Chamber of Commerce, 225 W. Austin, Suite 200, Nevada.

I can't believe they moved the date to the same weekend as Boomtown days in Joplin. Don't they want a crowd?
