Neptunes host annual Invitational

The Nevada Neptunes hosted their annual Nevada Invitational swim meet on June 13 and 14, at the Walton Family Aquatic Center. Ten teams participated in the event, including Joplin,Carthage, Nevada, Lamar, Monett, Webb City, Parsons, Pittsburg, Branson, and Siloam Springs; with approximately 375 swimmers participating in the event. The Neptunes placed third overall in the team competition, which includes combined scores from both the women's and men's divisions. Swimmers competed in both individual events and team relay events with medals awarded to the top three finishers in each event. The Neptunes got top-three finishes from a total of 10 swimmers and brought home medals in numerous individual events, as well as six relays. Among the swimmers bringing home medals in individual events were: Chazden Del Chiaro, Jesse Claypool, Michelle Forester, Peyton Claypool, Hunter Richmond, Taran Schmitt, Katie Kearbey, Grant Miller, Carlie McCaffree, Dalton Eador and Emma Denman. The Neptunes also took home medals in the Girls 8-and-under 100-yard Medley Relay, Boys 10-and-under 100-yard Medley Relay, Girls 10-and-under 100-yard Medley Relay, Girls 10-and-under 100-yard Freestyle Relay, Boys 11-12 200-yard Freestyle Relay and Girls 11-12 200-yard Freestyle Relay. --Kristin Miller/Special to the Daily Mail
