DNR to hold meetings on Stockton State Park, Truman birthplace
In an effort to ensure that the public has an opportunity to provide input regarding services in state parks and historic sites, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources invites you to bring your ideas to an informational meeting Saturday, July 25, at Stockton State Park. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Nyblad Amphitheater, which is located in the east loop of the park's campground.
Department staff will give a brief presentation about recent improvements. Discussions will address current and future plans, which include new park signage, improvements to the North Shelter and a new lagoon. Visitors are also invited to share comments on the park's services and operations.
Another informational meeting Saturday, July 18. will include issues related to Harry S Truman Birthplace, Osage Village and Battle of Carthage state historic sites in southwest Missouri. The meeting will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the site office at Harry S Truman Birthplace State Historic Site in Lamar
Site staff will give a brief presentation about progress at the three historic sites and discuss future plans. Recent improvements at Harry S Truman Birthplace State Historic Site include replacing period wall paper, repairing the back porch, and completing a maintenance shop for increased maintenance efficiency. Visitors are encouraged to share comments on services and operations provided at the three historic sites.
