Darren and Shyla Delp
Shyla Robinson and Darren Delp were married Friday, June 12, 2009, in an outdoor ceremony at Mercury Hall, in Austin, Texas. The couple exchanged vows beneath three large oak trees decorated with hanging candles. Bruce Gilson solemnized the vows of the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Art and Linda Robinson of Sheldon, Mo. The groom is the son of Laverne and Beverly Delp of Harrisonburg, Va.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory gown with beaded lace tank, chiffon split front over a charmeuse slim A-line, featuring a cascade back with lace trim, and an ivory chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of roses and wore roses in her hair.
Music included "Ave Maria" by Schubert for the processional, and "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillet.
Jackie McCammon of Adrian, Mo., attended the bride as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Betsy Foreman, of Walker, Mo., and Natalie Johnson, Jesse Meza and Natalie Turner, all of Austin, Texas. All attendants wore black gowns. Flower girls were Jordyn McCammon, of Adrian, Brooklyn Foreman, Walker, and Avery Talavinia, of Bluffton, Ohio.
David Guengerich of Souderton, Pa., served as best man. Groomsmen were Eric Weaver, Harrisonburg, Va., Brian Oswald, Sturgis, Mich., and Bennie Oliver and Mike Usner, both of Austin, Texas. All wore black suits and white ties. Ring bearer was Jack Meza, of Austin. Ushers were Chris Dodson and Matt Layman, both of Austin.
A reception followed at Mercury Hall, where tables were covered with white cloths and featured mixed wildflower arrangements and candles. Guests were treated to fajitas and tres leches wedding cake.
The couple honeymooned at The Excellence Resort at Riviera Maya, Mexico, and are making their home in Austin.
