Randy Lynn Burdick
Randy Lynn Burdick, 55, Joplin, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at his home in Joplin, following complications as the result of an automobile accident. He was born Dec. 10, 1953, in Denver, Colo., to Billie Eugene Burdick and Wilma Loraine Hoskins Burdick. When he was in the United States Air Force, stationed in Illinois, he met Mona. They were married and from this union had three children, Debbie, Patrick, and Crystal.
Randy grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1972. He served in the United States Air Force for two years and was stationed at the Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He also served for the National Guard for three years in Nevada. He had lived in Joplin for the past 18 years.
Randy was survived by one son, Patrick Burdick, Waco, Texas; two daughters, Debbie Taylor and her husband Gary, Walker, Mo.; and Crystal Bogart and her husband Jeremy, Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother, Wilma Burdick, Nevada; four grandchildren, Matthew Oliver, Brady Bogart, Anna Bogart, and Hayley Burdick; two brothers, Richard Burdick and his wife Sandy, Nevada, and Ron Burdick and his wife Betty; two sisters, Kathy Fleener and her husband Terry, Bronaugh, Mo., and Karen Pate and her husband Jack, Bronaugh, Mo.; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in National Cemetery, Fort Scott.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, at the funeral home.
