JASPER, Mo. -- The Nevada Lady Tigers volleyball team picked up their third win of the year as they traveled to Jasper High School Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers had a "pretty good passing night," head coach Becky Lowery said, as they quickly got a rhythm going and kept it up, taking the victory in two sets, 25-17 and 25-21. The Lady Tigers' JV team had similar success, winning in two sets as well, 25-20 and 25-18.

"We have made a lot of improvement in our last two matches," Lowery said of the varsity squad. "The girls are starting to gel together and play as a team."

Mariah Mock and Melanie Messick led the team in kills with six, while Mock also recorded a block, four points and three digs. Lauren Klinksick put up the team high mark in points as she recorded six of her own, while Blaine Domer, Cassidy Lowery and Marisa Hughes each added four.

Allie Irwin posted a team-high six assists on top of her five points and four kills and Lowery recorded the Lady Tigers' only two aces of the night.

With that win, the Lady Tigers improve to 3-1 on the year and hope to continue their winning ways today as they head back out on the road to take on Liberal.
