Tuesday, September 22, 2009

The Hume Lady Hornets volleyball team has posted three strong victories in consecutive matches last week.

At the Archie tournament, the Lady Hornets were forced to take on much larger schools, but were still able to come home with a victory over Butler. The Lady Hornets needed just two sets to take the victory over the Lady Bears, winning both sets in close decisions, 25-19 and 25-22.

The Lady Hornets went on to dominate the Lady Knights of NEVC, allowing a total of 25 points in two sets.

The opener was all Hume as they cruised their way to a 25-8 victory. The Lady Knights attempted to make a game out of the final set, but ultimately fell short in a 25-18 loss.

Upon returning home, the Lady Hornets made quick work of Miami, winning in two sets, 25-18 and 25-7.

Over the course of those three games, Carlee Campbell posted team highs in points with 25, aces with 12 and blocks with 10, while Katie Orear led with 18 kills and Sara Farrar posting a team-high 22 assists.

The Lady Hornets are scheduled to be in action again today as they head to Appleton City for a best three-of-five dual at 5:30 p.m.
