Middle school football defeats El Dorado Springs

Thursday, September 24, 2009

El DORADO SPRINGS, Mo. --The Nevada Middle School seventh and eighth grade football A teams were both in action Tuesday night, taking on El Dorado Springs Middle School.

The eighth graders had a very strong offensive night as they jumped out to an early lead and never looked back on their way to a 42-0 shutout. The seventh graders had similar luck on the night as they came out on top of Nevada's second shutout of the night by a final score of 36-0.

The offense was fairly spread out for the seventh graders as four different players combined for Nevada's five touchdowns. Tristan Smith scored two of those touchdowns while Ryan Ferris, Hunter Johnson and Taylor Manes each added one.

No seventh or eighth grade B games were played.

The next action for the seventh graders is scheduled for Tuesday as they rejoin the B team for a trip to Carl Junction. The eighth graders will make the same trip to take on the Bulldogs on Oct. 1.
